New lens from Tamron

Care for a "AF 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD Aspherical (IF) Macro" lens anyone? Seriously, how much longer and more convoluted can those Japanese name their lenses?

Although this 15X monster of a zoom lens will seem to be quite handy as a walkaround lens, it remains to be seen how good the image quality is going to be. Probably will appeal to Canon users more since Canon are still lagging in the super zooms department. On the other hand, it's going to take a lot for this lens to be able to match the Nikon's class-leading super zoom in the form of the 18-200 VR.
